When to use root-stimulating fertilizer

Our 8-16-4 root-stimulating fertilizer should be applied directly to the soil before laying new sod. It stimulates rapid root growth of freshly laid turfgrass. Before unrolling your sod, spread the root-stimulating fertilizer evenly using a manual or hand spreader. After manually applying it, use a rake to spread the product evenly, avoiding any excess. Once the fertilizer has been spread out, you can now lay your sod.

The Verdi-Sol Root Stimulator can be used for seeding or overseeding your lawn. It is strongly recommended that you use 5 lbs of root-stimulating fertilizer per 1,000 sq. ft. to help the new seeds germinate and strengthen the roots once established. Set your spreader to 5 or 6.
